Wasabi Bloody Mary
The Flavors of Bon Appétit 1997


6 tablespoons hot pepper vodka
4 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 teaspoons wasabi powder **
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 1/2 cups chilled tomato juice
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
ice cubes
celery stalks with leaves

Directions:
Stir vodka, lemon juice, wasabi and pepper in pitcher until wasabi dissolves. Stir in tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce.

Fill 2 tall glasses with ice cubes. Pour tomato juice mixture over. Garnish with celery stalks and serve.

Note: if prepared 1 day ahead, spices settle nicely.

Wasabi is available at Japanese markets and some supermarkets.
