3 3/4 cups water
2 1/4 cups canned low sodium chicken broth, undiluted
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup regular grits, uncooked
1/2 cup 2 percent low fat milk
1 1/2 cups (6 ounces) grated Asiago cheese
Directions:
Bring first 5 ingredients to a boil in a large saucepan; gradually stir in grits. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat, and stir in milk and cheese. Serve warm.
Yield: 6 cups (serving size 1/2 cup)
