24 cups popped corn (1 cup unpopped)
1 cup margarine or butter
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup peanuts
Directions:
Preheat oven to 250°F. Put popcorn in large bowl. In a saucepan, melt margarine, stir in brown sugar, corn syrup and salt. Bring to boil, stirring constantly. Boil for 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat, stir in baking soda and vanilla, then peanuts. Pour over popped corn and mix well.
Put in large roasting pan and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven, cool and break into pieces. Store in tightly covered tin box.
Makes 6 servings.
