1 pound lean ground beef 7 1/2 ounce can tomato sauce 1 garlic clove, minced salt and pepper to taste 2 teaspoons sugar 14 ounce can tomatoes 3 cups broad egg noodles, cooked and drained 4 ounce light cream cheese, cubed 1 cup 7% sour cream 6 green onions, chopped 1 1/2 cups grated light cheddar cheese Directions: Brown meat and drain. Add tomato sauce, garlic, salt, pepper, sugar and tomatoes. Cover and simmer over low heat for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine hot noodles with cubed cream cheese. Stir to melt cheese. Add sour cream and green onions. In a greased 3 quart baking dish, layer meat sauce, noodle mixture and cheddar cheese alternately. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Serves 6. |
