1/2 ripe pineapple (about 1 1/2 pounds)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice, or to taste
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil leaves
fresh basil sprigs for garnish
Directions:
Peel and core pineapple. Cut pineapple decoratively into bite size pieces. In a large bowl, gently toss pineapple with sugar, lemon juice, and chopped basil.
Serve pineapple garnished with basil sprigs.
Serves 4.
